Considerable fundamentals for the foundation of the company breecon GmbH were made within the GABI-TILL consortium, a scientific consortium for genome research in plants. The foundation of the company was promoted by the project leaders of GABI-TILL and programs from the BMBF and BMWi. The foundation was realized by the founders in 2009.

 

The founder team is supported scientifically by experts of the genome research and economically by the GO:INcubator GmbH, the UP-Transfer GmbH and the Business Angel Club Berlin-Brandenburg. The breecon GmbH is a member of the Wirtschaftsverbund Pflanzengenomforschung. In this organization, most of the leading plant breeding companies are organized.

 

The place of venue is Potsdam-Golm. The company is embedded in the largest scientific research park in the Brandenburg area. In collaboration with local institutions of the Max-Planck-, the Fraunhofer- and Leibniz organizations new innovative products for healthy food and renewable resources will be developed.
